Welcome

Welcome to our parish website.  The website is one more way in which we are building our community here at St. Monica’s.  The sacraments, and above all the Mass, are at the heart of our identity as Catholics, but getting to know each other, working together and enjoying each other’s company are also integral to growing together as Christs Body, the Church .
This website helps us to reach out to those who want to find out more about our faith and our parish.  It also serves as the first step as an introduction to the life of the community here at St. Monica’s.

Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

About the church

Built in 1914, the church and its parishioners have seen a great deal of change both in the local community and the wider society. Each era has brought its own challenges, from World Wars to economic depressions - the church prides itself as a haven from hardship, centre of celebration, and pillar within the community. You can read more about the full growth and development of the church in the ‘History’ section of the website.
