Sr Joyce Dionne
Parish Sister

Sr Joyce Dionne, was born in Canada and educated there obtaining her degree from the University of Ottawa. She made her final vows as a daughter of Providence at the age of 23.
 
After 18 years of teaching in Canada she asked for a year off to come to England to study its system of education; that was 38 years ago. During those 38 years in England she spent one at St Angela’s Grammar school, Wood Green and 23 at Holy Family, Enfield where she taught Geography and History for two years until she became Head of Eighth Year and Head of Modern Languages, specializing in French. She left teaching in 1994 when Holy Family became St Anne’s.
 
Sister Joyce then worked as assistant chaplain at Chase Farm and as superior of Providence Convent, Palmers Green until she took on voluntary work at St Monica’s as Parish Sister in 1997.
